Tim Duvall
President

 
Tim Duvall is President and CEO of Neo Medical Inc. a medical device company, located in Sparks Nevada; Tim has over 35 years of management experience from several Fortune 100 companies including 25 years spent in Medical Devices. Tim is considered an industry expert in the area of vascular access products with a special focus on Neonatal and Pediatrics.

Tim holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University.

Tim was recently awarded the 2016 Northern Nevada Technologist of the Year Award. He is an Eagle Scout and a recipient of the “Keeping America Strong Award” for the company’s focus on the development of children’s products.

Like all Nevadans, Tim and his wife Pamala are focused on building a better future for their children, grandchildren and members of their community. They believe that the efforts of local citizens have a far greater impact on the future then relying on those in a distant capital.


















Brian Allman
Vice President

A native resident of Reno, Brian T. Allman grew up hiking the Tahoe Rim Trail, snowboarding at Mt. Rose, visiting nearby Lake Almanor and spending time with his family at locally-owned restaurants in the area. Brian's passion is working with business owners and families to develop comprehensive financial strategies that help his clients accumulate wealth for retirement, protect and utilize that wealth once they have retired, and efficiently distribute that wealth as they pass their legacy on to their heirs. Brian's passion is fueled by an intensive drive for excellence and education. After receiving Bachelor's of Science degrees in both Accounting and Finance from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2012, Brian went on to receive his MBA as well as earn the right to use the CFA, Chartered Financial Analyst, designation in 2013.

Brian has always had an entrepreneurial spirit. His first non-profit venture began at age 13, selling t-shirts door-to-door. Brian quickly fell in love with business and started a vending machine route, hiring his first employee after only 24 months in the business. While keeping his vending route in place, Brian decided to partner with his father in 2008 and served as the CFO of Elite Dental Institute, providing highly specialized continuing education to dentists across the world. Despite the success of all of his endeavors, Brian realized his true calling was in finance and the power of investing and now serves as a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones.

When not working closely with his clients to help them achieve their financial goals, Brian spends time with his family at regular Sunday dinners, hikes with his German Shepherd, Penny, and donates blood as often as possible. Brian is a President's Circle member of the Nevada Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology (NCET), is actively involved with the Reno-Sparks Chamber of Commerce as an Ambassador, was one of the founding Charterholders of the CFA Society chapter in Reno, and is very proud to serve as the Vice President on the Reno Hayek Group's Board of Directors.

 

 
Mark Pingle
Secretary

Mark Pingle is a professor of economics, a member of the University of Nevada, Reno Department of Economics since 1990.  He received his B.S. degree in economics from Southern Oregon State College in 1983. He received his M.A. in 1984 and Ph.D. in Economics in 1988, both from the University of Southern California. Professor Pingle has published papers, books, and other writings in macroeconomics, behavioral economics, and experimental economics. He has served as President of the Society for the Advancement of Behavioral Economics. Since Fall 2008, professor Pingle has focused on building an Entrepreneurship Program at the University of Nevada, Reno, including community outreach designed to create a culture of entrepreneurship in Northern Nevada. On the personal side, Professor Pingle grew up in a cattle ranching family in Southern Oregon, and played on a state championship baseball team in high school.  His wife and three girls are his primary joys. 

 

Geoffrey Lawrence
Treasurer

Geoffrey Lawrence is Nevada's assistant controller where he oversees the state's financial reporting and transparency efforts along with Nevada's elected controller, Ron Knecht. Geoffrey formerly was director of research at the Nevada Policy Research Institute and has written for the Cato Institute and the Heritage Foundation in Washington, DC. Geoffrey is recognized as an expert in tax and labor policies in the states.  He has a B.A. in International Relations from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke where he started on the school's top-20 wrestling team.  He also has a B.S. in Accounting, an M.A. in International Economics from American University in Washington, D.C., and is currently pursuing an M.S. in Accounting.







Brian Allman
Fundraising Chair
Dr. Allman is a 1982 graduate of Santa Clara University and 1986 graduate of UCLA School of Dentistry. Over the past 30 years, Dr. Allman has  developed a unique blend of diagnosis and therapy using state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment for all facets of general dentistry, non-surgical TMJ diagnosis and therapy and oral appliances for Snoring and Sleep Apnea. Dr. Allman is the Director of the TMJ Therapy and Sleep Center of Nevada and co-Founder of Elite Dental Institute and  is an internationally recognized leader and lecturer regarding dental sleep medicine therapeutics, protocol and practice building.



Erika Frost
Student Outreach Chair

Erika Frost is a junior at the University of Nevada, Reno. She is majoring in economics and minoring in statistics. She is the President of the Economics Club and is excited to bring more opportunities to economics students and strengthen the club’s relationship with the economics department and faculty. As the Vice President of Operations for the Entrepreneurship Club, she provides valued assistance in the day-to-day aspects of the club.

Erika is on the dean’s list, a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and a recipient of a Regents undergraduate merit scholarship. She works as an undergraduate research assistant for an economics professor, where she applies her knowledge from the classroom to a real life application. Being a volunteer at the Nevada Humane Society allows Erika to give back to her community while also spending time with animals in need. In her free time, she enjoys baking, reading, hiking, running, and spending time with her family.

Upon graduation in spring 2017, Erika plans to further her studies of economics at graduate school. After graduate school, she wants to work for an international organization, such as the International Monetary Fund, and would like to eventually start her own business.


 
David J. Harrison
Information Technology Chair

David J. Harrison runs 2 o'clock productions, specializing in educational, training, and promotional videos. He is an instructional designer at the University of Nevada, Reno and a doctoral candidate at Old Dominion University in Instructional Design & Technology. He earned his B.A. in International Affairs from UNR and his M.A. in Theology from Holy Apostles College & Seminary. He is a devout Catholic and is married to Linda Harrison (a special education teacher); they have two children and one grandchild. His publications include topics in theology, educational technology, and online learning.


Leah Wagner
Events Chair
Leah is a fifth generation Nevada Native, and a graduate of UNR with a BS in International Affairs and Economics.  Leah's grandma, mom, herself and daughter comprise four generations of UNR women graduates. Leah was raised on the ethereal Nevada beauty of watching wild mustangs while riding the V&T in Virginia City, the scent of rain washed sage on a hot summer day mingled with whispering pines and the crystal clear cobalt grandeur of Lake Tahoe. All of this has indelibly embedded Northern Nevada in her DNA, and she is proud to serve with the Hayek Group enhancing our wonderful community.
Leah is the Business Development Director for Hughes Private Capital, where business development often takes the form of throwing parties at the multimillion dollar mansions of her former employer, CHASE International Real Estate. Leah's favorite pastimes are hanging out with her kids and playing the piano for her children's choir.
