Hayek Salon Discussion: 5:15pm
Dinner 6-8pm

Please Register Before the Event

Topic:
Mr. DeGasperis will overview the gold industry, including perspectives on global and U.S. monetary policy, fiscal policies, central bank activities and the role of gold as money in our system.  He will also discuss basic supply and demand issues and the growing scarcity of the yellow metal (and its silver cousin) in terms of waning investment in research, drilling and development of new reserves.  The presentation is offered with the intent of raising awareness and generating a healthy debate about gold’s role in the global economy and its local impact on all of us Nevadans.

Hayek Salon (5:15pm):
Salon is a gathering of people held primarily for conversation and contemplation of issues.  They originated in 15th century Italy, and flourished in France in the 17th and 18th centuries.

The Hayek Salon is held one hour immediately preceding the Hayek Dinner meetings.  Its purpose is social and intellectual -- allowing you to meet others and have a warm-up discussion before the speaker.

Question for this upcoming Salon:  If Nevada's tax structure is not ideal, how should it be changed, and how should taxes on mining figure into Nevada's tax structure?

To participate, just come at 5:15.  If you want to come more prepared, bring some relevant facts, news stories, or other show and tell items you think apply to this issue.
